Dear Member
I would like to welcome you to Oakham Tennis Club for the 2010/2011 year. We have a superb and thriving tennis club with fantastic members, excellent coaches and opportunities to enjoy tennis for all standards both in fun and competitive matches. We endeavour to provide tennis for all abilities and ages. We have made some changes to help improve attendance at mix-in sessions and encourage more team participation.
This year we have left the membership fees the same as last year for Individual Adult, Joint and Family Memberships. We have reduced Student and Coaching Only memberships and have included students in full time education, in the Family Membership to encourage more students to join.
As far as the future goes, we are still looking to relocate so that we can extend the number of our courts, have year round floodlit tennis and possibly, a couple of indoor courts. We are also applying for planning permission to have floodlights at our present location. We may need members to write to the council in support of this, I will keep you informed.
Wimbledon tickets can only be allocated to British Tennis members. Please refer to the application form for details if you wish to apply.

The Committee have decided that juniors may join the mix-in sessions if they have reached the appropriate standard. They will usually have attended the junior coaching sessions and the decision will be made by their coach.

Details of the new format 2010 OAKHAM TENNIS CLUB TOURNAMENT are attached! Please complete an application form and send it to Sarah with your membership renewal if you would like to take part – greater participation means a more successful event! Application forms will be available in the clubhouse. Junior details will follow shortly. If you would like to donate a cup for the tournament, please speak to Vicki Renwick.
On line booking is now in operation! (courts 2, 3 and 4) Go on to the website: www.oakhamltc.org.uk click on to “facilities” then “court booking”. You will need to obtain a log in code from Ralph: ralph@r2rtennis.co.uk . Court 1 is still bookable on the white board or at Rutland Sports.
We are still experiencing problems with the gate being left open and the security lock breaking. We replaced the lock last year at a cost of £180 and it has broken again. Could all members please close the gate when they leave the club.
We are not progressing with the membership tag as it was not felt it had the club’s full support. An up to date list of members (names only) will be kept in the first aid cupboard. If a member suspects court users are not members, they can then check the list.
